This Tuesday, the spokesman for the Israeli Foreign Ministry, Lior Haiat, warned that entering into a war with Lebanon will be “inevitable” unless the international community intervenes to stop the attacks by the terrorist group Hezbollah, which operates in that country. .

Since the outbreak of the war between Israel and the Islamist organization Hamas on October 7, Hezbollah has been “provoking” Israel on the northern border, denounced the spokesman for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Roni Kaplan.

In fact, since the beginning of hostilities, various exchanges of attacks have been reported between Hezbollah and Israel, which have forced the evacuation of approximately 230,000 people in northern Israel, as confirmed by the Israeli embassy in Costa Rica.

“Behind Hezbollah, there is the terrorist government of Tehran; it is sending its terrorist organizations, both in Lebanon, in Syria, in Yemen and in other places, to attack the State of Israel, putting the citizens of Lebanon at risk,” Haiat said. .

The Foreign Ministry spokesperson invoked Resolution 1701 of the United Nations Security Council, which establishes the disarmament of all armed groups in Lebanon.

Haiat called on the international community to “use diplomacy” and ensure compliance with Resolution 1701, which also establishes the withdrawal of all Israeli forces in Lebanon and the complete cessation of hostilities between the two countries.

Otherwise, the diplomat assured, “Lebanon is going to pay an enormous price” for “letting” Hezbollah continue its attacks against the Israelis.

In recent months, various leaders of the international community have advocated for a ceasefire that would allow humanitarian assistance in Gaza.
