The Israeli army says it has discovered the tunnel system in which the leader of the terrorist organization Hamas in the Gaza Strip, Jihia al-Sinwar, hid after the attacks on October 7th.

The soldiers show bathrooms and a kitchen as well as another room that is said to have been used as a lounge for al-Sinwar’s bodyguards. The rooms appear better equipped than in other tunnel systems that the Israeli army had discovered so far.

According to information, Jihia al-Sinwar himself is said to have lived in this room. The soldiers show a safe and large amounts of cash. The sum found is said to be several million dollars and Israeli shekels. According to Israeli sources, the Hamas leader had to leave the money and other belongings behind as he fled from approaching Israeli soldiers.

“He’s doing well here with his millions, while the civilians above are living in poverty and starving,” a soldier notes in the video.

The Israeli army had already published a recording in advance that was supposed to show Jihia al-Sinwar and his family in the tunnel system. This is said to be a brother, one of the Hamas leader’s wives and three children, as well as al-Sinwar himself.
