Israeli astronaut Eitan Steva is expected to celebrate Seder night today (Tuesday) at the International Space Station, about a week after being launched into it as part of the AX-1 mission (in its Hebrew name – “Sky”).
Earlier this week, he told in a special interview from space about his feelings in the first days of the mission, alongside preparations for the holiday meal. “I do not have everything, but I have enough,” he said, “I took matzah into space and besides, the Russian team offered me gefilte fish, and said it was especially delicious. They know our tradition, so yes, I have that too.”
“You can not practice the physiological sensations you feel in space – when you are on Earth,” he added, “These are different situations of conducting in gravity, when you are hovering and you can not learn it or practice it in advance.”
