JERUSALEM: With 84 percent of the votes counted in Israel, former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to be prime minister again as his party continues to lead. Due to political instability in Israel, general elections were held last Tuesday for the 5th time in 4 years. Following this, counting of votes began. As of yesterday afternoon, 84 percent of the votes had been counted.

As of yesterday afternoon, 4,081,243 votes had been counted. Out of which 24,201 votes were invalid. As of now, former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s coalition has won up to 65 seats. Once the total votes are counted, the number of seats is likely to increase. According to pre-election polls, Netanyahu’s coalition would win 65 seats in the 120-seat parliament.

In line with this, Netanyahu’s coalition continues to lead in the number of votes. As a result, Netanyahu, who has the honor of being the longest-serving Prime Minister in Israel for more than 12 years, has a chance to become the Prime Minister again. In 2019, he resigned from the post of Prime Minister due to allegations of corruption.
