“The vice-chairman of the opposition parliamentary party was arrested about 2-3 hours ago, in criminal proceedings that have been ongoing for a long time. In the same proceedings, in which Ashotyan has been accused for a long time, a restraining order was applied to him.
And what. At the moment, the only explanation is that Ashotyan allegedly violated the terms of the restraining order. That is a very insufficient explanation. What did Ashotyan do? Did he try to leave the country illegally? Naturally, no. You invited him, but he didn’t show up? I just rule it out. What did he do? What did you break?
Of course, these questions are rhetorical. It is clear to everyone that the reasons for isolating Ashotyan are not in the domain of criminal proceedings at all.”
