This heating season in the whole city started on October 18. A little earlier, since October 13, educational institutions, as well as social services, health, culture, and sports institutions subordinated to the municipality, have already been heated.
Usually, the heating season in Klaipėda ends in the second half of April, but in the last few years, due to unfavorable weather, the heating continued until the beginning of May.

If it is still cold in the dwellings, residents can warm up even longer. The end of the heating season is determined by the municipality for the institutions under its control, taking into account the actual outdoor air temperature. Other heat consumers, including residents of multi-apartment residential buildings, can decide by majority vote on the end of the heating of their buildings – it does not necessarily have to coincide with the end of the heating season set by the municipality. If there is no resident’s request for longer heating, the heat supply to the apartments is stopped when the official end of the season is announced.
If you want to heat for a longer time, more than half of the residents of the house should apply in writing to the company that maintains the heating unit (community chairman or administrator). In the same way, the heating season can be ended earlier than the official end of the heating season.
