“It is time for the AU to​ take strong decisions to‍ exclude this entity and to‌ support the Moroccanness of the Sahara,” said the former head of Comorian diplomacy, in a statement to MAP, on the sidelines of his participation in the ⁢15th edition of​ the‍ MEDays ​Forum.

Mr.‌ El Maceli recalled that the so-called “rasd”, which is not recognized⁤ by any regional or⁣ international⁢ organization, ‌is⁣ a non-state entity that must no longer be a member⁣ of the African‍ Union.

He also stressed that the Kingdom plays a fundamental role⁤ in resolving crises and supporting ‍sustainable development in Africa, welcoming the comprehensive development taking place in Morocco under ‍the visionary leadership of HM King ‍Mohammed⁢ VI. The African continent can learn from Morocco’s experience and achievements to accelerate its progress.

Referring⁢ to the MEDays Forum, the former Comorian minister noted that it is a​ platform for​ discussing pressing issues affecting the‍ planet ‌and Africa, as well as for better understanding current and future challenges.

The 15th edition of the ⁢MEDays International Forum, themed “Polycrisis,‍ Polyworld”, brings together more than 200 high-level ​speakers, including heads of state and government, political decision-makers, Nobel ⁤Prize winners, ​heads of major international companies, and ⁤leading international figures.
