Since the launch of operation “Marhaba 2024” until last Monday, approximately 20,908 Moroccans living abroad (MREs) passed through the port of Al Hoceima.

According to Adil El Bardi, director of Al Hoceima Port, passengers passing through Al Hoceima Port are divided between 17,946 passengers arriving to Morocco and 2,962 passengers departing abroad.

A total of 5,305 vehicles passed through the Port of Al Hoceima, including 4,490 inbound vehicles and 815 outbound vehicles, which is a decline of around 20% compared to the same period in 2023, he said, noting that the number of arrivals, both passengers and vehicles, has increased by 17% since the establishment of the Al Hoceima-Motril link.

And added that the National Ports Agency continues its efforts to improve port equipment through the installation of state-of-the-art safety and comfort equipment, as well as strengthening coordination with the various stakeholders concerned to guarantee good reception conditions for passengers.
