Actor Siddharth took to social media to describe the harsh treatment of his family by CISF soldiers at the Madurai airport two days ago.

In it, “I have been receiving calls from many people regarding the incident that took place at the Madurai Airport two days ago. Thanks to all who supported. So I want to elaborate on that.

I used to visit Madurai airport frequently. But this time I came with my family including my sister and parents. CISF who was there then. A player checked my Aadhaar card. And he checked two or three times even after removing the mask from my face. When I asked what it was, he said that it is not like you. I am in this photo as I am now. I don’t know why he asked that though.

He then proceeded to check my airpad and phone and threw them in a nearby drive. I told him that my phones have been lost many times already because of this. To which he said, this is Madurai airport and the rules will be like this.

They then asked me to take all the coins out of my mother’s purse. They spoke in Hindi when they asked why they were taking pennies when they scanned them. And my sister had some medicine in her bag. A CISF soldier who was far away asked why are you carrying these medicines.

It is not necessary to ask about the physical condition of an individual in a public place, one can call and ask privately. After that, after I argued with them, a senior official who came there asked me what was the problem. Then I took off my face shield and said I am your fan and I apologize for what happened here.

If this is the case for me, what will happen to the elderly population. I have traveled by air quite often. Such incidents did not happen then. But the way these CISF soldiers spoke to my parents scared me. Their job is a bit difficult. For that, there are no rules that require them to behave like this with passengers,” he said in the post.
