Unvaccinated, the singer Zaz announced that she would not be able to perform in Canada due to the health restrictions still in force in the country. “I can’t say yes when I feel no. It would be flouting what I am, not respecting me, ” she wrote in a post on her Facebook account.

Singer Zaz has announced that she is postponing, with “great sadness” his concerts scheduled for September 2023 in Quebec “due to the health measures still in force in Canada”. The artist explained, in a message published on Facebook on September 9, the reasons for this cancellation. “I made the choice not to be vaccinated”she says, which prevents her coming.

She states that she contracted ” several times “ the Covid, specifying that she had not yet spoken on the subject because she felt that it was not ” the good moment “and that she had so far managed to ensure all of her shows since the spring “by showing credentials (repeat PCR test and isolation)”.

But, she continues, “The question arises again and I have no other solution than to tell you this: I cannot say yes when I feel no”adding that “it would be flouting what I am, not respecting myself…” Refusing the vaccination for herself, Zaz assures that she “respect everyone’s choice” and highlights its “free will about it”. “I may disappoint some, but I know many will understand me”she adds, hoping however that the health situation will evolve quickly, so as to allow her to obtain an authorization to enter Canada.

The country has seen the health restrictions challenged in several protests, including the movement of truckers during the winter, which had paralyzed the federal capital Ottawa for several weeks, followed by a movement of bikers in the spring. Canada still requires proof of vaccination for travelers arriving from abroad.
