Mallow, County Cork – Ita McNulty, a beloved mother and wife, passed away peacefully on December 21st, 2025, at the Mercy University Hospital. The loss is deeply felt by her family and the wider community, marking the end of a life well-lived and remembered with fondness. It’s a quiet christmas Eve for those who knew her.

A Life Remembered in Mallow and Beyond

Ita McNulty, née Broderick, leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

  • She was the wife of the late Martin McNulty and mother to Séamus, Máire, and brian.
  • reposing will take place at O’Connell’s Funeral Home, Mallow on Tuesday, December 23rd.
  • Requiem Mass will be held on Wednesday, Christmas Eve, at 2:00 PM in St. Mary’s Church, mallow.

Ita was predeceased by her husband, Martin, and her brothers, Seán and Jimmy.She is survived by her sisters, Margaret and Joan, her children, Séamus, Máire, and Brian, as well as daughters-in-law Caroline and nora. Her family also includes grandchildren Laura, Mark, Kate, Aoife, Dáire, and Caoimhe, and great-grandchild Cooper, along with Laura’s partner, Stephen.

The family circle also extends to sisters-in-law Angela and Peggy, nieces Marie-Thérèse and Siobhán, and a wide network of relatives, neighbours, and friends who will mourn her passing.

The family has specifically acknowledged the extraordinary care Ita received from the Home Care team, including Jenny, Bridget, Rachel, and Ann, and also staff at Mallow Day Care/the Alzheimer’s Society, Nazareth House, and the medical teams at Mercy university Hospital and the Medical Center Mallow.

Ita will lie in repose at O’Connell’s Funeral Home, St. James’ Avenue, Mallow (P51 HH61) on Tuesday, December 23rd, beginning at 5:30 PM, with Prayers at 7:00 PM. Following this, her remains will be removed to St. Mary’s Church, Mallow.

A Requiem Mass will be held on Wednesday, Christmas Eve, at 2:00 PM. The service will be live-streamed and can be viewed at www.churchservices.tv/mallow.

Following the Mass,Ita will be laid to rest at st. gobnait’s Cemetery, Mallow.
