‘It’s Getting Boring’: Sachin Tendulkar Suggests Drastic Rule Changes For ODI Cricket | Sachin On ODI Cricket: “Cricket will be boring one day, only Mathuna will fix it”

by time news

Cricket world legend Sachin Tendulkar has given some suggestions that ODI cricket is boring and needs to be changed.

Sachin Tendulkar Interview:

In an interview with a private company, he answered various questions related to modern cricket. Accordingly, a question was raised about Test cricket matches being over for 3 days. He has also given detailed answers to it.

“Don’t look at the days”

Accordingly, “How many days will the Test cricket match last?”Rathu. The point here is not that the competition ends in five days or any other number of days. We all need to understand that Test cricket is meant to attract attention. Cricketers have to play on different grounds. It can be bouncer track, fast track, slow track, turning track and swinging track.

A better decision for teams traveling abroad is to be prepared for all conditions rather than assuming that they will get favorable conditions. As far as I’m concerned, what matters is what kind of stadiums we play on. That is also the heart of cricket, said Sachin. As the International Cricket Council strives to make Test cricket the best entertainment and number one sport, it doesn’t hurt that the matches end in 3 days.

“Bowlers need a positive environment”

ICC, MCC Cricket federations including are discussing how to continue Test cricket as the No.1 format. First of all, there should be a favorable environment for the bowlers. The bowlers have to create a critical environment with every ball. The match will be interesting only if the batsmen manage to play it. Otherwise how will you get audience.

“Boring ODI Cricket”

The current format of ODI cricket being played is boring. By using a new ball for each innings, we have eliminated reverse swing in the match. Even if the 40th over is bowled in the match, it is the 20th over for that ball. But, the ball starts swinging only in the 30th over. However, there is no reverse swing in the match as two balls are used. Today’s matches are more predictable and put more burden on the bowlers. From the 15th over to the 40th over, the game loses its momentum and becomes boring.

Sachin’s recommendation:

While there is no harm in maintaining a 50-over match, teams should alternate between batting and bowling after every 25 overs. It gives equal chances to opponents in toss, ice factor and other conditions. .

Accordingly, the team batting the first 25 overs must bowl the next 25 overs. After that, they should bat again for 25 overs and give the opponent a chance to bat again. With this, both teams bowl in the first and second halves. It is also more commercially viable as there will be three innings intervals instead of two innings intervals,” asserted Sachin.
