French IUT Dijon/Auxerre/Nevers Achieves ISO 9001 Certification, Expands Regional Presence
A commitment to quality and a growing network of campuses mark a period of significant progress for the University Institute of Technology (IUT) of Dijon/Auxerre/Nevers, which recently received ISO 9001 version 2015 certification. This achievement underscores the institution’s dedication to providing high-quality education across a diverse range of programs.
The IUT, serving approximately 2,500 students, offers a complete portfolio of higher education opportunities. This includes 10 University Bachelor of Technology specialties – with six available through a work-study model – alongside 11 professional licenses, all accessible via work-study, and two university diplomas focused on accounting and management. The institute is strategically expanding its reach, with campuses now located in Dijon, Auxerre, Mâcon, Tournus, and Nevers.
The institution’s workforce comprises 159 teacher-researchers and teachers, supported by 70 dedicated BIATSS (library, engineering, administrative, technical, social and health) staff, and over 400 temporary professional workers. This robust team is central to the IUT’s ability to deliver a dynamic and relevant educational experience.
“As 2014, the IUT has been committed to a Quality approach,” a senior official stated. This commitment culminated in the prestigious ISO 9001 version 2015 certification, awarded by Bureau Véritas France. Currently, five departments within the IUT have achieved this certification, covering both the training process and essential support services.
The certification process involved a rigorous evaluation of the IUT’s operational procedures, ensuring adherence to internationally recognized quality management standards. This achievement not only validates the institute’s existing practices but also provides a framework for continuous enhancement.
The position of education service manager, a key role in maintaining academic standards, is based on the Dijon university campus and reports directly to the administrative manager. This hierarchical structure ensures clear lines of accountability and efficient management of educational resources.
