Since May 6, 2023, a legal dispute has pitted the artist Jahman Express against the Ministry of Communications, Telecommunications and Post before the arrival of the new government, headed by then-Mayor of Oursogui, Moussa Bocar Thiam.
According to Libération, the artist filed a complaint due to the ministry’s “unauthorized use of his name” to promote the “Senegal Connect” tour. The same source reports that the court handed down its decision on August 14, declaring the ministry “responsible for the damages” caused to the artist and demanding compensation of five million CFA francs.
