J’aime lire Académie launches the second edition of its competition, sponsored by Kylian Mbappé

by time news

To your I like to read ! Until January 31 inclusive, all children residing in France and aged 10 or over will be able to send a two-minute video, during which they read a story of their choice. The only condition: that it be selected from the (large) panel of stories of I like to read. Last year, the magazine received no less than 4,000 videos! « I think we will have a lot of success again, because it is very rewarding for a child who has just learned to read to share this new ability.analyzes the editor-in-chief Delphine Saulière.

A fun challenge, but the competition is tough. Nothing is left to chance by the jurors, employees of the Bayard group: reading speed, ease, interpretation (neither too flat nor too theatrical), contact with the camera and the listener… Criteria established in connection with a speech therapist, which should enable an initial sorting. “It’s hard to choose, says Delphine Saulière. And then, it’s about gaining size in Lego, it’s not just any issue! »

High-flying sponsors

To help select the lucky winner who will receive the first prize, the jurors can count on the contest sponsor, who will choose the winner from among the finalists. After Omar Sy last year, Kylian Mbappé accepted this heavy task. Enough to attract young participants, since the footballer is one of the favorite personalities of the youngest. “He is a sportsman very committed to the dissemination of culture in the suburbs, explains Delphine Saulière. He wrote a comic strip that tells his journey, he was reading I like to read when he was little… Having him as a godfather is an encouragement to read, to be daring. »

It is also a great boost for the magazine, whose competition is part of the great national cause of reading, an initiative set up by the government to put reading back at the center of French life, and to facilitate its access to people in difficulty. « Reading is an open door to many worlds: that of knowledge, imagination, emotion…concludes Delphine Saulière. Reading is essential, whatever you read. »
