Former Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Jake E. Lee shared the final message he received from the legendary singer before his death.

Jake E. Lee, who played guitar for Ozzy Osbourne, revealed the last communication he had with the iconic rocker before Osbourne passed away. Lee shared the poignant message during the “Back To The Beginning” event on Saturday, July 5, which celebrated Osbourne and Black Sabbath.

The message, received by Lee while he was at an airport two weeks prior, paints a picture of a man eager to reconnect.

“I am still processing this, and the finality of it hits me in waves,” Lee stated. “This was the message I got from him: ‘Ciao Jake. I am very sorry I couldn’t spend more time with you this weekend, but it was really chaotic. I would really like to see you when I get back to Los Angeles, just to chat. It’s been so long since we saw each other. Where do you live now? Because the last I heard, you were living in Las Vegas. How did the evening go for you on Saturday? I really hope you had fun. Anyway, I will send you a message when I get back to Los Angeles and we have to see each other. With much affection, Ozzy.’”

Ozzy Osbourne died on July 22 at the age of 76.
