(24 News) JI has now prepared 10 demands for the government’s negotiation committee on the protest of Jamaat-e-Islami against inflation and expensive electricity and then on the government’s invitation for negotiations.
According to the details, Jamaat-e-Islami will place 10 demands before the government negotiation committee, the first demand will be that the consumers who use electricity up to 500 units per month should be given a discount of up to 50% in the bill.
Second demand This would be to abolish the Petroleum Development Levy and roll back the recent increase in the prices of petroleum products.
Third demand What Jamaat-e-Islami will put before the government negotiation team is to reduce the prices of essential commodities by 20%.
Fourth demand
Jamaat-e-Islami has placed the demand of withdrawing the tax imposed on all items related to education and training of children, including stationary items, at the fourth position.
Fifth demand
Jamaat-e-Islami’s appeal to the government to reduce non-development expenditure by 35% is also one of the conditions for ending the sit-in.
Sixth demand
Jamaat-e-Islami has also expressed its intention to present the demand to the government to terminate the capacity payment and dollar payment agreement with the IPPs.
Seventh demand
Jamaat-e-Islami’s agenda also includes the request to remove illegal taxes imposed on agriculture and industry and reduce the burden on them by 50%.
Eighth demand
Jamaat-e-Islami has demanded that industry, trade and investment should be ensured so that the economic wheel runs and the youth get employment.
Ninth demand
Jamaat-e-Islami has also decided to put before the government the demand of abolishing the tax imposed on the salaried class and bringing the privileged class into the tax net.
Jamaat-e-Islami says that the approval of these demands will give relief to the people and improve the country’s economy.
