A horror shocker as a life’s work: Jamie Lee owes her career to the “Halloween” films.

The Angels.

US actress Jamie Lee Curtis says she feels great gratitude for her role in the horror classic “Halloween” and that she owes her “entire life” to this film. “Whenever I talk about it, tears come to my eyes,” the 63-year-old said on the television show “CBS Sunday Morning”. “I don’t know what would have happened. But I do know that (without this film) I would never have found success anywhere.”

Curtis is best known for her role in 1978’s Halloween, in which she played Laurie Strode, a high school student who is being pursued by a butcher-wielding psychopath. “The fact that people loved this character – amazing to have experienced that,” she said.

The daughter of Hollywood stars Janet Leigh (“Psycho”) and Tony Curtis (“Some Like It Hot”) starred in the science fiction film “Everything Everywhere All at Once” earlier this year. Curtis stars again in the newest movie in the Halloween franchise, Halloween Ends. (dpa)
