Debut director Shyam Sankaran has started the first schedule of shooting for his upcoming film ‘Janaki’. The film is made up of completely newcomers. The story is written by Shyam Sankaran himself. The film stars Tomin Thomas, Damodaran, Joshi Paul, Rajeev Mullappilly, Akhil Babu, Sajeev K Thandassery, Devanandana, Archana, S Priya, Devika, NL Priyamol, Biji Calicut and Harsha in the lead roles. Chief Associate Director PK Biju has penned the script and dialogues.

Filming is progressing in Thekkady, Munnar, Vagamon, Vattavada, Alappuzha and Kovalam as well as Kambam and Theni in Tamil Nadu. The film has a completely different theme. The film focuses on three female characters, Janu, Nalini and Keerthi. The film tells the story of a family in a village called Kuravanmala where only innocent farmers live.
