A poignant return to the world of the Banks family is on the horizon as Janet Hubert, the original Aunt Vivian from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, joins the cast of bel-Air for its fourth and final season, set to premiere November 24 on Peacock.
Hubert will portray a new character who enters the life of Hilary Banks (Coco Jones), serving as a mentor and confidante, and enriching Hilary’s storyline while connecting generations of powerful Black women on screen. This casting marks a notable moment,as Hubert’s departure from the original series midway through its six-season run became a well-known chapter in television history. The actress’s addition makes her the sixth member of the original Fresh Prince of bel-Air cast to appear in the reboot, alongside Daphne Maxwell Reid, Vernee Watson-Johnson, Tatyana Ali, Joseph Marcell, and Tyra Banks, who will also be featured this season.
Joining the cast alongside Hubert is Caroline Chikezie (Power Book II: Ghost), who will play Dominique Warren, the leader of Geoffrey’s (Jimmy Akingbola) former London gang. This role is particularly interesting as it ties into Chikezie’s British heritage. Notably, Chikezie’s real-life husband will portray the new Uncle Phil.
