Tourcoing Arts Scene Offers Warm Escape From Winter Chill

Despite the frigid temperatures, opportunities for indoor entertainment abound in the Tourcoing area. On Saturday, January 10, the Atelier lyrique will present a unique concert titled “Hâl, ballades amours” at the Albert-Roussel auditorium of the Tourcoing conservatory.

A Journey Through sound: “Hâl, Ballades Amours”
The performance will feature a captivating blend of Iranian, Indian, and Irish music. The Atelier lyrique, a collective of classically trained vocalists and instrumentalists, conceived of “Hâl, ballades amours” as a way to explore the global themes of love and longing through the distinct musical traditions of these three cultures. The concert aims to create an immersive experience for the audience, drawing them into a state of “hâl” – a state of letting go, as described by the organizers, an ecstatic moment suspended between wakefulness and self-forgetfulness. The selection of pieces was curated to highlight both the similarities and differences in how these cultures express emotion through music. The concert will feature customary instruments alongside contemporary arrangements,offering a fresh perspective on these ancient musical forms.
The concert is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.,and tickets are priced between €6 and €15.
