Japan, Singapore and South Korea lead the world passport rankings; India is at 87th position

London: Japan, Singapore and South Korea have overtaken European countries in the world passport ranking.

According to the Henley Passport Index, Japan’s passport with freedom of movement in 193 countries was ranked first, followed by Singapore and South Korea with access to 192 countries. Germany is in third place.

The UK passport currently ranks sixth with access to 187 countries and the US seventh with 186 countries. But China ranks 69th with 80 countries and Russia ranks 50th with 119 countries.

The Indian passport is ranked 87th in the said ranking with 60 countries, while Afghanistan is at the back with access to 27 countries.

The list is prepared on the basis of the world conditions after the Kovid pandemic. Based on 17 years of data, this passport ranking will help people understand the current conditions of countries and find the countries with the best freedom of movement.

The ranking is prepared by Henley and Partners, an immigration company.

“Post-pandemic world travel and emigration are all on the road to recovery, which will take time,” Henley & Partners chairman Christian Kailin said based on the rankings.
