Japanese Foreign Ministry urged its citizens to refuse trips to Ukraine

by time news

The Japanese authorities are calling on their citizens to refrain from traveling to Ukraine, given the possible deterioration of the situation in that country, the NHK television and radio company reports.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan raised the level of danger on the territory of Ukraine to the third (out of four possible). In this regard, the foreign policy department of the island nation strongly recommends that its citizens who are still in Ukraine leave from there on commercial flights. As of December last year, there were about 250 Japanese in Ukrainian settlements, including diplomats and their families.

Earlier, Japanese Cabinet Secretary General Hirokazu Matsuno noted that official Tokyo, in cooperation with interested countries, primarily the United States, is monitoring the development of the situation in Ukraine.
