Jarabe de Palo will carry out a tribute tour to its vocalist Pau Donés through 17 Spanish cities during 2024, as announced by Tronco Records, the independent record label founded by him and now managed by his family.
«Aware of the mark he has left, Pau’s friends and family decided to work on the idea of a show in concert format to honor him as a musician, composer and person, offering a retrospective of the valuable musical legacy he has given us», Marc Donés, brother of the singer, has assured.
The tribute will start on February 9 in Gijón and will conclude on April 27 in Madrid. In between, Jarabe de Palo will perform concerts in Bilbao, Pamplona, Valencia, Murcia, Girona, Mallorca, Santiago de Compostela, A Coruña, Lleida, Zaragoza, Seville, Málaga, Granada, Alicante and Barcelona.
The show will feature video projections that will refer to Pau Donés. The lighting design custom made by his childhood friend and Jarabe de Palo illuminator, Miquel Clot, will play an important role and will provide a special atmosphere at every moment of the concert. The Jarabe de Palo band will be the same one with which Pau did his last concerts during ‘The 20 Years Tour’, in 2017.
The production has the musical direction of Micky Forteza-Rey (co-producer of Jarabe de Palo) who has been a key person in the careful selection of the compositions that will be performed at the concert: 17 main songs originally composed by Pau Donés in different versions that synthesize the history of Jarabe de Palo.
