Chennai: In the death of former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, 4 people including Sasikala should be decided as criminals and an investigation should be ordered against them, according to the report of the Arumugasamy Commission of Inquiry. The report of the commission of inquiry headed by retired Justice Arumugasamy was tabled in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly today. Key features of this report include recommendations:

  • Three days before her admission to the hospital on 22 September 2016, Jayalalithaa had a high fever. Dr. Sivakumar has taken paracetamol as prescribed.
  • Jayalalithaa, who fell unconscious in Poise Garden, was carried by Sasikala and the staff immediately took her to the hospital.
  • He was taken to the hospital unconscious.
  • Jayalalitha has been suffering from uncontrolled diabetes, high blood pressure, thyroid, obesity and irritable bowel syndrome.
  • Although Jayalalithaa allowed her to take photographs during the Cauvery meeting held on September 27, 2016, Ramalingam IAS prevented it. That night, Jayalalithaa suffered from suffocation.
  • It has been revealed that Jayalalithaa was not given the angio treatment recommended by American doctor Stuart Russell on 11 October 2016.
  • The baseline blood creatinine level required for an angiogram was correct, but did not explain why the angiogram was postponed.
  • Dr. Babu Abraham has filed conflicting information with the commission, saying that London doctor Richard Peeke had suggested over the phone to postpone the angio.
  • Apart from the US doctor, R.1 (Sasikala) also had the right to change this decision.
  • People who have the ability to make decisions in a crisis may make a mistake by not proceeding with cardio surgery.
  • This may have had the effect of saving the life of the late Prime Minister according to the American doctor.
  • Since Sasikala was expelled and reunited with Jayalalithaa in 2012, the two have not had a smooth relationship.
  • It is impossible to come to any conclusion other than to blame Sasikala.
  • Jayalalitha’s time of death was announced by the hospital as 11.30 pm on December 5, 2016. But the time of his death is between 3 pm and 3.50 pm on 4th December 2016.
  • Jayalalithaa’s son-in-law J Deepak observed Jayalalitha’s first anniversary on 4th December 2016 between 3 pm and 3.30 pm.
  • VK Sasikala, Sivakumar, former Health Minister Vijayabaskar, then Health Department Principal Secretary Radhakrishnan should be decided as criminals and all 4 should be ordered to be investigated.
  • Dr. Babu Abraham should be interrogated as he has recorded conflicting information about Angio and the treatment methods given to Jayalalithaa.
  • The fact that the then Chief Secretary Rama Mohana Rao did not inform the Government through letters on various days should be treated as a crime and investigated.
  • Pratap C Reddy, chairman of Apollo Group, who gave false information in a press conference that Jayalalithaa could be discharged anytime, should be investigated.
