Jazmín Pinedo Weighs Future with América TV Amid Host Role Speculation

Peruvian television personality Jazmín Pinedo is currently in negotiations with América TV regarding her contract renewal, as speculation mounts about her potential role as the new host of “America Today” in 2026.

Jazmín Pinedo, a prominent figure in Peruvian entertainment, has publicly expressed gratitude for the opportunities provided by América TV while navigating ongoing discussions about her future with the network. The presenter recently addressed both criticism of her work and the evolving landscape of her career, emphasizing the importance of empathy and the value of perseverance.

Pinedo reflected on her early beginnings in television, specifically acknowledging América TV for opening doors for her on programs like “Lemon Lime” and “Hesitate,” and later as a model on “Very Verano.” “They have always given me many opportunities and I am very grateful for the trust,” she stated, highlighting the channel’s consistent support for her professional development. She also noted her completion of university studies in advertising, underscoring her commitment to a well-rounded career.

The conversation surrounding Pinedo’s future comes as América TV reorganizes its programming following the departure of Ethel Pozo from the morning magazine show. Producer Pati Lorena has indicated on social media that Pinedo’s name is strongly considered to lead the revamped “America Today” program. However, Pinedo herself has remained cautious, stating that while discussions are underway, no final decisions have been made.

“I would love to continue in America, we are currently having conversations to define it, since my contract ends right now,” Pinedo declared at the end of 2025. “I appreciate the trust of the channel that always takes me into account for new projects, but nothing is defined yet.”

Beyond the contract negotiations, Pinedo addressed the negativity often encountered on social media and in the press. She called for greater empathy, stating, “With so much violence in general that is seen in our country, not only on the street, but on social networks, we must begin to be a little more empathetic and understand that thinking differently is not a competition.” She acknowledged that differing opinions are natural, adding, “We all have people who love us and people who may not agree or be so attached to who we are or how we think.”

Pinedo also shared insights into her career trajectory, revealing she began working at a young age, between 16 and 17, and consistently set ambitious goals. “I was always flying and trying to beat time, setting very constant goals and I still have them,” she explained. “I have fulfilled many of the dreams I never imagined and surely many more are coming.”

Crucially, Pinedo emphasized that her career choices are heavily influenced by their impact on her family, particularly her daughter. “On more than one occasion I have rejected projects,” she revealed. “I always tend to analyze things a lot, I like to take my time to be sure. Furthermore, it weighs a lot how decisions impact the life of my daughter and those I love. I don’t think only about the moment but about the future.”

Jazmín Pinedo remains a recognized and influential personality in Peruvian television, successfully balancing her professional commitments with her personal life and family responsibilities. As she navigates this new chapter, she continues to express gratitude for past opportunities and a hopeful outlook for the future.
