Jecheon City Hall’s Kim Jae-ho Wins 25 Line-Lourn Summer World University Competition

ESSEN, Germany – Kim Jae-ho of Jecheon City Hall secured a bronze medal in the vault event at the 2025 Rhine-Ruhr Summer World University Games (Universiade). The South Korean national gymnastics team member showcased his skills on the international stage.

Vaulting to a Podium Finish

In the vault final held in Essen, Germany on July 27, Kim Jae-ho performed sixth in the rotation. He landed a difficult 5.2 vault on his first attempt, scoring a strong 14.100 points.

His second vault, with a difficulty of 4.8, earned him 13.866 points. Kim’s combined average score of 13.983 was enough to clinch the valuable bronze medal.

Kim expressed his joy at competing and medaling alongside top international athletes. “I am very happy to stand on this grand stage with the world’s best athletes and win a bronze medal,” he said. “I was able to come this far thanks to the support of the citizens of Jecheon.”

He added, “I will continue to strive to further elevate the reputation of Jecheon sports and Korean gymnastics, and I would like to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who has always given me unwavering support and encouragement.”

The gold medal in the event was awarded to Chen Zhilong of China, who scored 14.549 points. Silver went to Luca Murabito of Switzerland with 14.033 points.
