Jennifer Lawrence Found “Peace” During Hollywood Hiatus, Returns with New Film

A two-year break from acting allowed Jennifer Lawrence to rediscover her creative spirit and step away from the pressures of constant public scrutiny. The Oscar-winning actor is now poised to return to screens with “Die My Love,” a psychodrama premiering November 7.

Lawrence recently shared with “The Graham Norton Show” that she felt a sense of calm accepting the possibility of not returning to Hollywood after a string of box office disappointments. Following her fourth Oscar nomination for 2015’s “Joy,” Lawrence starred in films including “Passengers” (2016), “mother!” (2017), “Red Sparrow” (2018), and the underperforming “X-Men” installment, “Dark Phoenix” (2019).

“I took a little time,” Lawrence explained to Norton. “I was working all of my twenties, and then I was like… what’s out here? What’s going on?”

the actor admitted to feeling surprisingly at peace with the prospect of leaving the industry behind. “I was at peace with that possibility of that happening,” she said. “Hollywood is a lot… I think I would have been [okay], but also I would’ve been really upset. I don’t know.”
