Jeonnam Province was selected as an excellent organization for disaster response safe country training for two consecutive years.Jeollanam-do announced that it was selected as an excellent institution for the second year in a row in the Ministry of Public Administration and Security’s evaluation of safe nation training in the second half of 2024.
This year’s safe country training was conducted by reproducing an actual situation, assuming a complex disaster situation such as a large-scale fire occurring due to an explosion of an electric vehicle in a nursing hospital, a crowded facility. It was evaluated as having improved the on-site response ability of the disaster response system.
In particular, based on a practical training scenario that took into account the special characteristics of electric vehicle fires and the possibility of large-scale casualties, the entire process from evacuation of patients from nursing hospitals, prevention of the spread of toxic gases, fire suppression, and post-mortem recovery was simulated.
In addition,the hospital applied a customized evacuation manual for elderly patients and patients with reduced mobility,and established a close cooperation system among the public,private,military,and police to demonstrate response capabilities close to actual disaster situations.
Park Nam-il, head of the Social Disaster Department of South Jeolla Province, said, “We conduct various types of simulation training assuming resident evacuation situations even in normal times. In particular, this training was an excellent example by focusing on the safe evacuation of nursing hospital residents in an electric vehicle fire situation, which has emerged as a social issue. “As we have been selected as an excellent institution for safe national training for two consecutive years, we will continue to protect the property and lives of residents by strengthening training and mastery to establish a smooth command system in disaster situations,” he said.
Meanwhile, Jeollanam-do Province’s 2025 government budget, which was confirmed at the National Assembly on the 10th, is 673.3 trillion won. Even though it is 4.1 trillion won lower than the original, it has secured 9.0502 trillion won in national budget, securing 9 trillion won in national budget for the second consecutive year.It was announced on the 11th that it had kept the times.
This is an increase of 157.4 billion won (1.8%) through public offering projects among ministries after securing 8.8928 trillion won in the government budget.
The 2025 national budget secured by Jeonnam Province reflects many key projects such as SOC and future high-tech strategic industries that strengthen Jeonnam’s potential and strengths.

In addition, ▲Expansion of direct payment system for eco-friendly agriculture by KRW 9.1 billion (KRW 22.8 billion in 2024 → KRW 31.9 billion in 2025) ▲ Advancement cost of NCC process technology based on petrochemical carbon-free fuels of KRW 4.4 billion (total project cost of KRW 41 billion) ▲ Distribution and logistics at fishery product bases Center (FPC, FDC) design cost: KRW 600 million (total project cost) 30 billion won) ▲3.2 billion won in support for hosting the Yeosu World Island Expo (total project cost 24.8 billion won) was also included. South Jeolla Province believes that the decline in consumption and private investment will continue as the country’s economic growth forecast for next year has been lowered to the 1% range due to the unstable domestic situation and increased uncertainty following the inauguration of the new U.S.government, and plans to focus on stabilizing people’s livelihoods and economic recovery.
jeonnam Province plans to establish a rapid execution plan for next year’s budget of 12 trillion won, including the national budget, by the end of December and execute it as much as possible within the first quarter of 2025.
In particular, it was decided to quickly execute the budget related to the people’s livelihood economy so that small and medium-sized enterprises, small buisness owners, farmers and fishermen, and vulnerable groups do not suffer, and if necessary, prepare people’s livelihood measures by using the 2025 reserve fund.
In addition, as the government’s supplementary budget for people’s livelihood is expected to be released in the first half of 2025, we plan to quickly discover projects related to people’s livelihood stability and economic recovery and make every effort to reflect them in the budget.
