Ranchi: Chief Electoral Officer of Jharkhand K. Ravi Kumar has appealed to the voters of the state to ensure their participation in democracy through voting rights. He participated in the human chain program formed today in Dhanbad under the voter awareness campaign. He said that those eligible to vote whose names have not been added to the voter list due to some reason, can fill Form 6 and submit it. Left out eligible citizens who have completed 18 years by April 1 this year can also take help of the online process to get their names added.
Online process continues
On Thursday, the Chief Electoral Officer also made a surprise inspection of the polling stations in Jharia of Dhanbad Lok Sabha constituency and took stock of the minimum necessary facilities available there. He said that arrangements for drinking water, toilets, sanitation, sheds etc. will be ensured at every polling station. He directed the BLOs and observers engaged in election work to conduct miking to provide necessary information related to voting to the voters who have been displaced from Jharia area and shifted to other places.
Meeting with representatives of labor organizations regarding elections, names of laborers who have worked for six months will be included in the voter list.
Get your name added to the list
He also appealed to the voters to match their names in the voter list with the polling station where their name is, so that they can exercise their franchise. Formation of polling station awareness group, after finalizing the voter list, instructions were given to match the names of absent, displaced and dead persons with the voter list. Dhanbad District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Madhavi Mishra was also present during the inspection of polling stations.
