JingleFest Showcases Student Entrepreneurship and Holiday Cheer in Troy

A vibrant holiday market and business competition will converge in Troy, Alabama, on December 3, celebrating the ingenuity of student entrepreneurs and offering a festive experience for the community. The annual JingleFest Holiday market and the culmination of the MAX Accelerator Business IDEA Competition promise a day filled with shopping, entertainment, and the spirit of innovation.

A Five-Year Tradition of Student Innovation

Now in its fifth year, JingleFest provides a platform for over 20 student creators from the Student Made Store TROY to showcase and sell their products to the public. The market, held at the IDEA Bank on the Square in downtown Troy, primarily features businesses launched by students participating in the Sorrell College of Business’ Troy Bank and Trust Entrepreneurship program. This initiative underscores Troy University’s commitment to fostering real-world business skills and supporting the next generation of leaders.

Expanded Festivities for All Ages

This year’s JingleFest boasts an expanded format designed to appeal to families and shoppers of all ages. Attendees can enjoy free photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, indulge in a free Hot Chocolate Bar, and take advantage of free gift wrapping services. The event will also feature live music, raffle giveaways, a bounce house, and a variety of food trucks, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere.

“We’re just excited that we can help kick off the Christmas season, support our IDEA Bank students have a fun, family-oriented night with something for everyone,” a senior official stated. Doors will open at 4 p.m. and the event will continue until 6:30 p.m., offering ample time for attendees to explore the offerings and enjoy the festivities.

“Shark Tank”-Style Competition Fuels Innovation

Earlier on December 3, 12 finalists will compete for a total of $8,000 in prize funds in the MAX Accelerator Business IDEA Competition. The competition will culminate in a “Shark Tank” styled pitch competition, where students will present their business ideas to a panel of judges. This event highlights the practical application of entrepreneurial skills learned through the Sorrell College of Business program.

“December 3 is truly a day full of celebrating student entrepreneurs at Troy University and we hope the community will come show their support,” the official added.
