Washington: US President Joe Biden questions India’s stance on Russia’s occupation of Ukraine. Biden says India is taking a shaky stance. Biden says India is one of America’s allies.

Biden praised NATO, the European Union and its allies in Asia for taking a firm stand against Russia and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The current sanctions include unprecedented sanctions against Russia’s currency, international trade and a ban on exports and imports of high – tech goods.

He was speaking to US business leaders in Washington. In the case of Russia, Biden noted that there was a united front between NATO and the Pacific.

In some quarters, India’s position on the Allies’ stand against Putin’s aggressive behavior is not strong. But neither Japan nor Australia are strong, Biden said. It is believed that this led to the US President’s reference to India’s withdrawal from supporting the US resolution at the UN.

Attempts were made to split NATO, but NATO became stronger. “There is a unity that is not in history now,” Biden said, indirectly criticizing Putin’s efforts.

At the same time, despite rising criticism of Biden, there are reports that India is buying crude oil from Russia at exorbitant prices. But India, which imports 85 per cent of its crude, consumes very little crude from Russia.

But the country will look for other sources of energy in the face of new challenges, Reuters reported, citing government sources. At the same time, India has so far taken a neutral stance internationally on the Russian occupation of Ukraine.
