The drummer Joey Jordison, founder of the US heavy metal band Slipknot, died on Monday 26 July “peacefully in his sleep” at the age of 46. The announcement of the disappearance was given by the family with a statement, without specifying the cause of death. «His death leaves us an emptiness in the heart and an indescribable pain – writes the family – Those who were close to him knew his acute intelligence, sweet personality, great heart, love for family and music. Jordison was one of the original members of Slipknot, founding the band in 1995 along with percussionist Shawn Crahan and bassist Paul Gray. The first album released in 1999, `Slipknot, went platinum within a year. The second album, “Iowa” (2001), was an even more resounding success. The band has sold millions of albums around the world and won a Grammy. Jordison played in the group from 1995 to 2013, then farewell. The drummer suffered from transverse myelitis , a disease affecting the nervous system.
