Joint Committee 200 Wages to Rise by 4.65% in January 2027

More than 600,000 employees under Belgium’s Joint Committee 200 will receive an automatic salary indexation of 4.65 percent in January 2027, according to human resources specialist Acerta.

Inflation reached 5.26 percent in October according to figures published by Statbel, while the smoothed health index—the benchmark for wage adjustments—settled at 101.72.

Salary Gains Scale Higher Under Updated Indexation Rates

For a worker earning a monthly gross salary of 2,500 euros, an indexation of 4.32 percent would yield an extra 108 euros a month according to initial estimates. Those earning 3,000 euros gross would see an increase of 129.60 euros, while a 3,500-euro salary gains 151.20 euros, and a 4,000-euro salary climbs by 172.80 euros gross per month. With the updated 4.65 percent indexation rate for January 2027, those monthly gains will scale higher.

Not every earner will capture the full benefit of the adjustment. Under the centenindex measure introduced in June 2026, automatic pay bumps for higher earners face restrictions. For employees with a fixed full-time gross base salary exceeding 4,000 euros, the first two percentage points of the indexation are capped. For example, a 5,000-euro gross earner who would normally receive a 216-euro increase under a 4.32 percent index sees that amount trimmed to 196 euros gross.

Sectors and Public Service Adjustments Scheduled for 2027

Beyond the primary clerical sector, workers in food, hospitality, insurance, and concierge services will also see compensation adjustments in January 2027 according to RTL Info. Olivier Marcq, legal expert at Acerta, noted that sectors such as CP 200 and CP 306 will experience the wage moderation of the centenindex for the first time.

Public sector workers and social benefit recipients will experience staggered increases in the following months. The Federal Bureau of Planning projects two critical index breaches—the first in November 2026 and a second in April 2027. Non-profit sector wages will adjust in December or January depending on the modalities applicable, while civil servants are scheduled to receive higher pay beginning in February 2027 as reported by RTL Info.
