Thiruvananthapuram ∙ JC Daniel Award winner KP Kumaran said that his first film was like a wrestler who stepped into the arena without preparation. “My films were accepted by the audience but were often ignored by the power centers. Two things were on my mind at that time. Quit film and focus on work, or become a full-time filmmaker. I chose the second way. Kumaran said.

Sasikumar says that he sees the award as recognition as a media worker. He was giving a speech while accepting the State Government’s first Television Lifetime Achievement Award. When a journalist is accepted by the state, there is doubt. But this is recognition of the citizen’s freedom of expression.
