The formation led by former mayor Ada Colau announced this in a statement after Urtasun himself explained it at a press conference this Tuesday. BComú emphasizes that Martí “will continue with its history of supporting culture”.

“Especially, to the cultural rights with a perspective of social and gender inclusion in which Barcelona has been a pioneer,” stressed the municipal group, which has reported that the farewell will take effect in the plenary session this Friday.

Martí has ​​been linked to the City Council since the 90s: in his first stage he was responsible for the Institut de Cultura de Barcelona (Icub) and entered as councilor of the PSC in the mandate of former mayor Jordi Hereu, in 2011.

In his second stage, he was municipal manager in Colau’s first term in 2015 and was mayor again in 2019 (this time for the commons), when he became one of the former mayor’s trusted people, and was a councilor for the Presidency and Deputy Mayor for Culture and Education.

Martí’s departure implies changes in the municipal group of the commons, of which Janet Sanz will be spokesperson (until now deputy spokesperson, a position that will be assumed by councilor Gemma Tarafa).
