Young Judo competitor Visits City Hall Ahead of National tournament

A promising young athlete from Bungo Takada is preparing to represent her community on the national stage. Shizuki Kono, a 10-year-old fourth-grade student at the Takada Judo Club, visited the city hall on August 28th to report her upcoming participation in the 34th Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Cup National Judo Tournament for the Day and Resolution of the Day, which will be held in Tokyo this November. Kono qualified for the tournament after demonstrating exceptional skill and dedication at regional competitions, ultimately earning a spot among the top young judoka in the country.
A Rising Star in Judo
Kono’s dedication to judo has quickly established her as a rising star within the Takada Judo Club. She began training at the age of six,drawn to the sport’s emphasis on discipline and respect. Her selection for the national tournament is a testament to her rigorous training and natural talent. Kono trains five days a week,focusing on technique,strength,and conditioning under the guidance of her coach,Hiroki Tanaka.
