The dystopian feature debut Czas, który nie nadszedł directed by Julia Rogowska, has captured the prestigious Golden Clapper Award at the Gdynia Film Festival as the longest-applauded title in the Main Competition, according to reports from Ciekawe24. The project, which generated substantial anticipation across the film industry ahead of its festival run, explores a society where aging is strictly prohibited and citizens refusing mandatory anti-geriatric treatment face complete social isolation.
Following its festival success, the production celebrated its official red-carpet premiere on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, drawing a gathering of prominent cultural figures who favored dark elegance and head-to-toe black attire, as detailed by Radio ESKA.

Plot and Character Stakes in a Youth-Obsessed Society
At the center of the narrative is Sara, portrayed by lead actress Agata Kulesza, whose refusal of cellular rejuvenation forces her onto the margins of a regime that worships perpetual youth and obedience. Years later, an escape attempt by Sara leads to a fateful reunion with her former love, Oskar—played by Dobromir Dymecki—forcing both characters to confront the irreversible consequences of choices pushed aside for years.
Director Julia Rogowska explained that the story evolved beyond its dystopian framework to examine what remains of human connection over time. In an interview with Trójka – Program Trzeci Polskiego Radia, Rogowska noted that the universal fear of aging and stereotyped portrayals of older women heavily influenced the character’s creation alongside screenwriter Małgorzata Piłacińska.
Everything has its price, and this character bears the consequences of her choices, Rogowska stated, emphasizing that the film champions the freedom to choose how one ages. The expansive supporting cast features Michalina Łabacz, Bartosz Bielenia, Anna Bieżyńska, Vanessa Aleksander, Maciej Musiał, and Weronika Humaj.
Red Carpet Appearances and Pre-Release Screenings
While Agata Kulesza led the cast on the red carpet in an understated monochromatic ensemble consisting of a glossy shirt and wide trousers, fellow cast member Vanessa Aleksander drew considerable attention from photographers by pairing dark trousers with a bold, asymmetric cut-out top, according to Super Express. Actor Maciej Musiał also attended the premiere, opting for a traditional and conservative tailored suit.
The premiere kicks off a broader rollout that includes panel discussions and advance screenings with the filmmakers across Poland. Preview events began on October 6 in Radom, followed by stops in Katowice on October 8 and Sosnowiec on October 9, alongside a special Warsaw screening at Helios Blue City where tickets were priced at 34,90 zł. Subsequent screenings are scheduled for Warsaw’s Cinema City Arkadia and Kino Kultura, Wrocław’s Kino Nowe Horyzonty, and Gdańsk’s European Solidarity Centre during the All About Freedom Festival, leading up to the film’s wide theatrical release on October 16, 2026.
Reflecting on the deeper themes of the project, Rogowska shared, Very much interested me what remains of a relationship after years. Are people able to fall in love with each other anew? Is this true love, or is it just nostalgia and a memory from the past?
