Justice Scores GTA 6 Alongside Tame Impala and SZA

French electronica duo Justice is composing the original score for Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto VI, launching November 19. Alongside the score announcement, the group released a collaborative single titled Flower in a Hurricane, featuring Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard.

The highly anticipated video game Grand Theft Auto VI arrives on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, bringing a Miami-inspired setting complete with advanced weather simulations. French producers Justice anchor the project’s soundscape, taking charge of the game’s original score after previously previewing snippets in promotional teasers and cover art reveals. The duo’s arrival on the project follows their work alongside Kevin Parker.

Flower in a Hurricane Sparks the Soundtrack Rollout

Leading the musical rollout for the game is Flower in a Hurricane, a multi-artist single that serves as the first formal taste of Justice’s score. The track features rotating vocal performances from Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker, SZA, and King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, driven by swirling synthesizers and crunchy electric guitar work.

Flooding flashes, And my heart is aching/ ‘Til I’m washed away once more/ Let’s take it fast, just like the Flash/ And in a moment, we’ll be gone like a second chance.

The song doubles as the backdrop for the game’s latest promotional trailer. Reviewers have noted that the track echoes the aesthetic of Eighties-infused soundtracks from earlier series entries like Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, updated here to fit a present-day environment. While 11 songwriters are credited on the piece, observers point out a distinct similarity to Dire Straits’ Money for Nothing, though Mark Knopfler is not among the listed writers.

Celebrity Radio Hosts and All-Star In-Game Stations

Beyond the instrumental score and lead single, Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album collects 34 original songs written specifically for the title. Contributions to the wider soundtrack come from Travis Scott, Rauw Alejandro, Yung Lean, PinkPantheress, Fuerza Regida, Keith Richards, Cardi B, and Morgan Wallen.

The game’s virtual radio dial leans heavily on celebrity curation across multiple genres.

  • Cocoteo FM: Bad Bunny and RaiNao hosting a contemporary Latin music station as El Martillo and La Gata.
  • Back Country Radio: Lana Del Rey and Morgan Wallen steering a classic and outlaw country station as MW and Delta Dawne, alongside Jeremy Dufrene as swamp meteorologist Mud Dog Mike.
  • Flash FM: Robyn and model/actress Alex Consani running the pop outlet.
  • Dirty South Classics: Trick Daddy and Trina spinning regional rap and classic hip-hop.
  • AfroBank FM: Burna Boy and DJ Palms Trax delivering African music classics and contemporary tracks.
  • The Chamber 106.6: Kerry King and Tom Araya of Slayer overseeing heavy metal.

For Lana Del Rey, the in-game radio gig hits close to home through family ties, given her husband Jeremy Dufrene’s real-life profession as an airboat captain informs his in-game reporting duties.

One of the coolest things about this is the fact that the first time some of our family got to L.A., they actually knew the roads because of playing the game,” Del Ray said. “On so many different levels, this is super special and a privilege. Can’t wait to get into the game and start playing.
