Thiruvananthapuram – The government has sanctioned the amount to settle all dues related to Kariyavattam Greenfield Stadium. 6 crore has been allocated to the stadium management company on an urgent basis. In the order, Minister V. Abdurrahiman said.

A lot of controversies arose before the cricket match regarding the Greenfield Stadium. This is a DBOT (Design Build Operate and Transfer) stadium. KSFL has this right till 2027. They have been grossly negligent in maintaining the stadium. After this, the government seized the annuity amount of around 6 crores.

The amount deducted from the annuity for the period 2019-20 has now been sanctioned. Property tax 2.04 crore, electricity charge arrears 2.96 crore, Vellakaram 64.86 lakh and electrical inspectorate 5.36 lakh are currently due. 6 crores to clear these arrears, the Director of Sports and Youth Affairs will take action.

The first match of the Twenty20 series between India and South Africa is being played at Greenfield on Wednesday. The state government had provided all the facilities and support to the Kerala Cricket Association in connection with the competition. Minister V. Abdurahiman said that all arrangements have been made to conduct the competition in good condition.
