Srinagar: A Hizbul Mujahideen commander from Kashmir was killed in Pakistan’s Rawalpindi. Basheer Ahmed Peer from Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir was killed. Intelligence sources said that he was safe in Pakistan for more than 15 years.

Pakistani media reported that Peer was shot dead point blank by an unknown assailant outside a shop in Rawalpindi. Peer was responsible for deploying terrorists along the Line of Control. The Center had charged him with UAPA on October 4 last year.
