“I used to give vegetable juice to my children every day considering it healthy, one day I came to know that it was slow poison. This incident changed my life.”

Kavita Dev of Raipur is today known as Millet Maa. She is not only growing fruits, vegetables and millets in 12 acres of fields, but is also making many products from them.

But her journey from an ordinary housewife to becoming a mother is an inspiration for all of us. Actually, Kavita was very conscious about feeding healthy food to her children and taking care of their health. She always insisted on feeding fresh vegetable juices and seasonal vegetables to the children. But one day she came to know that what she thought was healthy was actually poison.

It happened that one day, as usual, he prepared vegetable juice for his children, but instead of drinking the juice, his children hid it and went to school. When Kavita looked at the filled glass of juice in the evening, she saw a layer of oil in it. Kavita was surprised and after finding out, she came to know that it was not oil but a chemical which was present in the vegetables only.

After this incident, he stopped making juice and started growing his own organic vegetables. After doing gardening on his terrace for about four years, he became so fond of farming that he decided to buy a piece of land and do farming.

Gradually Kavita started growing vegetables, fruits and then coarse grains at that place. Kavita wanted organic food to reach other homes like her family.

For this purpose, he started making products like Dosa, Idli and Upma premix from millet itself. Through this work, Kavita is not only earning a turnover of more than Rs 5 lakh annually but is also able to help her family and many other people to live a pure and virtuous life.
