Alappuzha: A police sub-inspector who returned from duty in Kayamkulam was injured after falling into a pothole on the road. SI Udayakumar of Kayamkulam station was injured. The accident occurred when he fell into a pothole on the road and lost control while traveling on a bike. The SI was admitted to the Kayamkulam Taluk Hospital, where his hand and leg were injured in the accident. The accident took place at Kayamkulam KPAC Junction.

District Collector’s report that Guruvayur Infrastructure Company, which has taken the contract of Thrissur Mannuthi National Highway, should be blacklisted. The Thrissur collector’s report that pothole sealing on the national highway is not accurate. Thrissur District Collector Haritha V Kumar submitted a preliminary report to the High Court clarifying this.

The collector’s report also states that the cold mix currently used for temporary pit closure is not effective. Guruvayur Infrastructure, a contract company, does not have the required staff. The Collector’s inspection also found that there is no construction equipment required for road construction and maintenance. The report against the company has been made clear including this.

And the second day of pothole digging on the national highway as a farce. But the potholes were not completely closed. The tar that was laid on the Mannuthi-Idapally highway the other day has started to move. Here the excavation of the contract company was also yesterday. Following the allegation that the closure of the pit was unscientific, the High Court had directed the District Collectors of Ernakulam and Thrissur to come and inspect it. PWD officials found that there was unscientific nature in the work of not using road roller.
