Keenan Cahillinternet celebrity after accumulating millions of views on his YouTube channel lip-syncing lyrics to hit songs, has died at the age of 27.
Cahill suffered from Maroteaux-Lamy syndrome, a disease that causes organ enlargement, among other symptoms, for which he received frequent treatments and operations. In fact, according to his social media profiles, she was scheduled to undergo open-heart surgery earlier this month.
According to US media, after a series of complications, the young man was placed on life support, he died last Thursday the 29th in a Chicago hospital.
“Complications arose that he couldn’t get over,” his family noted in a GoFundMe organized by his aunt, the proceeds of which will go towards paying for Cahill’s medical and funeral expenses.
In the early 2010s, Cahill became an early viral star, achieving over 500 million views on YouTube. thanks to his ‘Lip Sync’ videos with songs by Justin Bieber or Ariana Grandeamong others.
His style was particular and characteristic: an always very expressive Cahill limited himself to pronouncing the lyrics of hits of the time with his lips and even got celebrities like Katy Perry or 50 Cent to join him in some collaborations.
