Australia won the 3-match T20I series between Sri Lanka and Australia by 2-1. While Sri Lanka won the 5 ODI series 3-2, the 2 Test series was tied 1-1.

Sri Lanka, which managed to host the Australian series in one way, has said that it cannot host the Asia Cup series. The Sri Lankan Cricket Board has said that they will not be able to host the Asia Cup series due to the economic crisis in Sri Lanka, so the Asia Cup series has been shifted to the United Arab Emirates.
