Kejriwal prays for the failure of ‘Operation Lotus’ at Gandhi Memorial | BJP Tried To Poach 40 MLAs: AAP Prays At Rajghat For Op Lotus Failure

by time news

New Delhi:The MLAs led by Kejriwal offered prayers at the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial today, with the aim of thwarting the BJP’s ‘Operation Lotus’ conspiracy to separate 40 MLAs from the Aam Aadmi Party.

An emergency meeting of AAP MLAs was held at Kejriwal’s residence in Delhi today. Speaking after the meeting, Aam Aadmi Party leader Sourav Bharadwaj said, “Out of total 62 MLAs, 50 attended today’s meeting. Those who did not come today expressed their support to Arvind Kejriwal over phone. They have promised to remain loyal to Aam Aadmi until their last breath.”

After the meeting, Kejriwal and the MLAs together visited the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial at Rajghat. There they prayed that ‘BJP’s Operation Lotus should fail’.

Speaking at a press conference, Kejriwal said, “The BJP tried to bribe 40 of our MLAs. A bargain of Rs 20 crore was negotiated. However, I am happy that they could not bribe even a single MLA.”

The strength of the Delhi Assembly constituency is 70 members. Currently, AAP has 62 MLAs. BJP has 8 candidates. BJP plans to divide 40 MLAs due to this. As up to 40 people can be split without facing the defection law, the BJP is taking efforts to do so,’ says an Aam Aadmi Party source.
