Kelly Clarkson Surprises Street Performer in Las Vegas Ahead of iHeartRadio Music Festival Performance
Las Vegas was in for a surprise when Kelly Clarkson, the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Festival performer, made a pitstop during her soundcheck. The 41-year-old American Idol winner shared a heartwarming moment with fans on Instagram, where she encountered a street performer while wandering the streets of Las Vegas.
Clarkson, who recently announced she is single, posted a clip on Instagram, showcasing the unexpected encounter. In the caption to her 7.1 million followers, she wrote, “I was on my way to soundcheck for @iHeartRadio tonight in Vegas and was tipping this incredible woman killing some Tina Turner, and then she asked me to sing and had no clue who I was.”
The video captures Clarkson lending her voice to a cover of the late Tina Turner’s hit song “What’s Love Got to Do With It.” The street performer, dressed in jeans and a black and white raglan T-shirt, seemed surprised when she realized who was singing alongside her.
Later in the day, Clarkson returned to Instagram to promote her upcoming performance at the iHeartRadio Music Festival. Sharing a poster for the show, she urged fans to stream the event live on Hulu.
During an Instagram Live session with her fans the day before, Clarkson opened up about her love life. After finalizing her divorce from talent manager Brandon Blackstock last year, she revealed that she is happily single. “Do I have a boyfriend? No! And not looking. You know why? I love being single,” Clarkson declared.
The singer, who is also a talk show host, emphasized that she already has a full house with her two children, two dogs, three rabbits, and a hamster. She highlighted her busy schedule, juggling multiple jobs, and admitted that starting over after a failed marriage was challenging.
Fortunately, with the help of a therapist, Clarkson was able to overcome the difficult time. She and her ex-husband share two children, daughter River and son Remington.
