Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos they declared their eternal love for each other as they are celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary on Wednesday, May 1.
The pair walked on the set of it Live with Kelly and Mark for their favorite song, Stevie Wonder‘s 1976 classic, “Mar.”
“It makes me so excited. Stevie Wonder. It’s just the soundtrack of our lives together. It really is,” Ripa, 53, said.
As they exchanged “happy anniversary” wishes, Consuelos, 53, reflected on the milestone.
“I was in bed last night trying to do the math,” he said. “My benchmark for a long time is going through first grade to being a senior in high school. Twelve years is a long time. Like, when you were a kid, that was your whole life. That’s doing it twice as well as a PhD. Plus four years of college and a master’s program!”

Ripa joked, “You’ve got your PhD while you’re getting married. Should I Dr. To call you Consuelos?” Her husband liked the idea, joking that “maybe make a house call later.”
Ripa met Consuelos in 1995 when they were stars All My Children together. The two eloped and married on May 1, 1996 in Las Vegas at The Bells Nevada Chapel.
“We cherish those memories, still to this day. It’s been 28 years and we still remember every minute of that wedding,” Ripa told People in February about the ceremony, which cost them $179 including airfare. “And I mean, it was really a moment. It was like two minutes!”
Two months ago, Ripa and Consuelos recreated their wedding photos in Las Vegas on Instagram.
“Viva Las Vegas ✨ Then ➡️ Now,” Ripa captioned the pictures. They also returned to the church earlier this year to film a week of their show.
The couple have three children: Michael 26, Lola, 22, and Joaquin Antonio, 20.
When asked to share their future goals on Wednesday’s show, Consuelos replied, “To continue what we’re doing. And by that I mean take all the kids off the payroll.”
“We’re so close,” Ripa said of their kids living alone. “We can taste it! We can taste financial freedom. It’s not that we’re not grateful for the three beautiful children we love and adore.”
The IS happy parents celebrated on social media as well.
“You can’t squeeze 28 years into 10 pictures, but you get the idea. Happy anniversary to the love of my life @instasuelos ♥️ So thank you for making all the dreams come true,” Ripa said reverse photo carousels.
“Thank you forever for deciding to go on this crazy, beautiful journey with me. Happy 28th anniversary. Well done @kellyripa,” Consuelos wrote while posting his own photo gallery.
The celebration came one day after Consuelos admitted to his wife and the Live With Kelly and Mark viewers that he shared a kiss with another woman while celebrating the championship victory of the Campobasso 1919 Italian soccer team he owns with Ripa.
“In the adulation, in the celebration on the pitch, when we found out the other team was tied and we were champions, we ran over to our fans,” he explained. “I’m running and I see this woman, let’s call her someone else’s aunt — maybe someone else’s aunt — and we look at each other and we’re impressed and there it is. [plexi]glass and we come to the glass, and you know what? I kissed her.”
Ripa asked if he was “open-mouthed” and if her husband was “emotionally normal”, at which point Consuelos tried to backtrack and say that the person he kissed could have been a man.
