Ken Urker, the 34-year-old father and former partner of reality figure Gypsy Rose Blanchard, was found dead at his Lafourche Parish home on October 1, 2026. Sheriff’s Office Investigates Raceland Residence Following Discovery

Deputies responded to a residence at 107 Double H Drive, Lot 4, in Raceland after receiving a call at 6:15 p.m. on October 1, 2026. Captain Brennan Matherne of the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Department stated that investigators had not discovered any signs of foul play as the case remained active.

Family members discovered the body after failing to reach him. Blanchard had texted Urker to wish him a happy birthday but received no response. Her brother, Dylan Blanchard, along with his wife and another woman, went to the home for a planned dinner and found him unresponsive on his 34th birthday.

Urker proposed to Blanchard in October 2018 while she was serving an eight-year sentence in prison. Blanchard had been convicted of second-degree murder following the June 2015 stabbing death of her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard, in Springfield, Missouri. Prosecutors had offered Blanchard a plea deal after investigators discovered that Dee Dee had subjected her daughter to years of medical abuse through Munchausen syndrome by proxy, forcing her to undergo unnecessary medical procedures and pretend she could not walk. Urker had originally connected with Blanchard in 2017 after watching the 2017 HBO documentary Mommy Dead and Dearest, subsequently sending her a supportive letter that sparked their correspondence. Following a temporary split in August 2019 and several years apart, Blanchard married Ryan Anderson in July 2022 while still incarcerated. After her release from prison in late December 2023, Blanchard divorced Anderson and rekindled her romance with Urker in April 2024, leading to the birth of their daughter, Aurora Raina Urker, in December 2024.

Blanchard Pays Tribute and Advocates for Kenan’s Law

She told media outlets that she believed Urker died from an apparent overdose, though official authorities have not confirmed a cause of death. Blanchard mentioned that she was in disbelief and had screamed until her throat burned, adding that he was her soulmate and red string.

In the wake of the tragedy, Blanchard launched an online petition for Kenan’s Law, aiming to address targeted cyberbullying.

She added that the proposed legislation focuses on changing the way social-media platforms handle repeated reports of harassment.

Autumn Urker Cites Family Concerns Over Online Scrutiny

Autumn, Urker’s sister, voiced sharp criticism during a TikTok livestream and disputed the narrative surrounding her brother’s state of mind. She asserted that Urker had felt terrified and humiliated by the public attention.

According to an incident report cited by media coverage, investigators found a holstered handgun, syringes, a spoon, and a brown powdery substance near the body. Autumn contended that the intense scrutiny took a severe toll on her brother, while law enforcement officials continued their independent review of the evidence.

Anderson Discusses the Sudden Death on Podcast

Ryan Anderson, who was married to Blanchard after her December 2023 prison release, spoke out on The Sarah Fraser Show podcast regarding the sudden death. Anderson stated that he was shocked by the news and immediately thought of Blanchard and their young daughter.

Although Anderson acknowledged that his past text exchanges with Urker were never smooth, he reached out to Blanchard’s father, Rod Blanchard, to express his condolences. Addressing questions regarding potential foul play, Anderson noted that he highly doubted Blanchard had anything to do with it and believed the situation aligned with an accidental tragedy.
