Kerala Blasters Draw 3-3 with Chennaiyin FC After Thrilling Match
Kochi: After three consecutive wins, Kerala Blasters drew with Chennaiyin FC in a thrilling match that saw both teams score 3 goals each. The match, held at Kochi, saw Chennaiyin leading 3-2 in the first half before Blasters staged a comeback and equalized in the second half.
Blasters’ Diamantakos and Chennai’s Jordan Murray scored a brace each, with one goal from each player coming from a penalty. Chennaiyin shocked the hosts in the very first minute of the match when Rahim Ali scored from a free kick by Rafael Crivalaro. However, Blasters leveled the score in the 11th minute with a penalty kick by Diamantakos.
Chennaiyin regained the lead with another penalty kick by Jordan Murray, and then increased their lead to 3-1 with another goal from Murray in the 24th minute. Blasters struck back with a goal from Kwami Pepra in the 34th minute, and then equalized in the 59th minute with Diamantakos’ left-footed shot from outside the box.
With this result, Kerala Blasters have topped the table with 17 points from eight games. The draw against Chennaiyin FC keeps them at the top of the standings, and they will be looking to continue their good form in the upcoming matches.
